This new model of the Native Chief, C244PCBL, comes with the Spyderco exclusive Cobalt Blue FRN handle scales with significant texturing. The distinctive quality of this knife, however, is the exclusive stainless steel blade. Developed in close cooperation with Crucible® Industries, CPM® SPY27® is a cobalt-enriched stainless steel that enhances the time-tested chemistry of Japanese VG-10 with the Crucible Particle Metallurgy (CPM) process. This state-of-the-art method wrings maximum performance out of the steel by reducing alloy segregation and ensuring a fine, homogenous microstructure. Proprietary to Spyderco, this high-performance blade material is renowned for its ability to get “sticky sharp,” while balancing edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance. A stainless four-way pocket clip and lanyard hole finish off this incredible model out of the Golden, Colorado factory.
