A bit shrunken down – and subjectively a bit more practical – compared to the full-sized SOCOM Alpha, the SOCOM Alpha Mini fixed blade has a sub-4” blade, but is still as reliable and tough as its bigger brother. Featuring the same overall design, with impressive ergonomics, well-placed finger grooves, and aggressive spine-side jimping, the SOCOM Alpha Mini just feels right in your hand. It fits so well, that the knife feels almost like an attachment to your boring and non-dangerous fist during use. With one thumb on the blade spine, and the rest of your hand wrapped comfortably around the handle scales, you’ll find yourself wanting to battle with every piece of cardboard that comes your way. If you’ve tried out the full sized fixed SOCOM and were blown away by its length, give the mini a go.

This SOCOM Alpha Mini is not for the fan of the basic. Part of Microtech’s DLC Signature Series line, this guy has a black DLC coated blade along with upgraded gorgeous carbon fiber handle scales, still contoured to perfection. To go with the new scales are bronzed hardware on the rivet screws as well as the hardware on the kydex sheath. Speaking of sheath, this knife comes paired with a fitted carbon fiber print Kydex sheath featuring an adjustable belt lock for vertical or horizontal carry. Back to the blade on this guy, it is constructed in full-tang style out of Bohler M930 stainless steel and has been made in the tanto edge style. Given partial serrations, this SOCOM Alpha Mini can tackle nearly any task.
