Another large, yet lightweight and easy to use, double-action out the front by Microtech, the Scarab II is one of those knives you have to get your hands on. A little bit smaller (and a bit more practical) than the Combat Troodon, the Scarab is named after the sacred Scarab beetle of ancient Egypt, and this model has a laser engraved picture of one of the insects on the clip. That fact alone makes me (Nate) want one of these bad boys.

This model of the Scarab II comes with an black chassis and the classic 3M traction inserts. Because this is the Gen 3 edition, the new, "Dual Fuel Drive Train System" makes for an unbelievable smooth action both in and out. The switch rides on a milled surface dubbed, "The Crud Kutter" which kicks out the lint and grime that collects in the pocket. The single edge blade features an Apocalyptic finish and Bohler M390MK blade steel, the black aluminum handle has grip inserts, making it virtually impossible to drop. For anybody who has found Microtech’s signature aluminum handles to be a bit slippery, the Scarab II handle may be perfect for you. Apocalyptic hardware and pocket clip finish off this awesome knife, making it a must have in your collection.
