Likely the most high-quality, oversized OTF auto knives on the market, the Combat Troodon measures up to nearly 10” while open while boasting a 3.8” blade. These things are legit. A favorite of those in law enforcement and the military due to their fast-action OTF mechanism paired with a built-in safety mechanism to stop the blade from firing through anything thicker than a piece of paper. Weighing in at less than 6 oz., the CT is one of those knives that may seem crazy and irrational at first glance, but once you get one in your hand you will quickly understand the hype. Contoured and machined 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum handle scales help the Combat Troodon sit comfortably in your hand, and the ridging in the handle on the sides will help greatly with leverage and balance during use. A strong tip-down pocket clip ensures that your knife will stay by your side always, and a ball-tip glass breaker gives you a little more peace of mind when considering emergency situations.

The Combat Troodon features Microtechs signature snappy OTF action, but may sometimes take a bit more effort to open and close as the knife is so large. This, however, makes the knife a bit safer and less likely to be opened by the wrong (tiny) hands, and ensures it will not go off in your pocket. Additionally, all Microtechs, including the CT, break in extremely nicely especially when oiled properly. There’s a reason that Microtech is the go-to for out the front pocket knives, and there’s also reasoning behind the hype behind the huge Combat Troodon. They go quick, so if you see one that you like, pull the trigger!

This CT is sick. With my (Nate) personal favorite blade finish that Microtech does, their amazing bronze, paired with another of my favorites, their OD green handle chassis, this Combat Troodon is perfection. With a tanto edge blade, it’s built to tackle the toughest of tasks, and will certainly look good doing it. In addition to the bronzed blade, the tip-down pocket clip, glass breaker, thumb slide and all screws are finished bronze as well. Don’t think about it too hard… you want one.
