The first and original Spring-Assisted AXIS lock pocket knife, the Benchmade 580 Barrage is a fast-opening folder that operates with ambidextrous dual thumb studs, With the AXIS bar lock, righties and lefties can enjoy the Barrage all the same. Nowadays, you an get many Benchmade models in a "mini" version. All it takes to deploy your 2.9" blade is a flick of either of the studs, as the blade pivots just about as quick as a typical side-opening automatic. With an incorporated spine-side safety switch for locking while open or closed, the Mini Barrage is known to have one of the strongest spring-assist lock-ups on the market.
