Spyderco Endela C243FPSBKRD Thin Red Line – Satin Partially Serrated VG-10 Drop Point Blade – Black FRN Handle – Black Pocket Clip – Red Liner
Spyderco, originally founded in the late 70’ selling their well-known Tri-Angle Sharpmaker, has since blossomed into one of the most well-known knife manufacturers and brands. Their first folding knife, the C01 Worker, which began production in 1981, paved the way for many new design concepts when it comes to folding pocket knives. Featuring the beloved round hole in the blade for easy flicking, and being the first folding knife with a pocket clip, Spyderco’s first production knife was surely impressive for the early 80’s. Now, they boast a huge line of cutlery ranging from tiny slip joints to chef’s knives to large compression lock folders. Additionally, the brand offers a huge range of both handle material and color, while also having multiple steels available for multiple knives. Spyderco, which manufactures in the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and China is sure to have a knife that fits anybody’s style and needs.
Some think the Endura is too big, and some think the Delica is to small – therefore, Spyderco designed the Endela. Splitting the difference in size, the Endela comes with the same features as both other lightweight pocket knives, with a full-flat ground blade, reliable lockback mechanism, and the classic and easy-to-use Round Hole opening mechanism. A solid EDC, the Endela comes in a wide variety of styles.
A message from Spyderco on the “Thin Red Line” models: “Created as a tribute to our nation's courageous firefighters, Spyderco's "Thin Red Line" knives are distinctive expressions of our workhorse lightweight models. Their defining feature is their unique handle design, which showcases black fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle scales accented by a bright red lining and a matching red backspacer. This color theme symbolizes the "thin red line" first responders represent between the normalcy of our daily world and the chaos of life-threatening emergencies.
The VG-10 blade of this Endela also combines the enhanced edge geometry of a full-flat grind with the voracious cutting power of Spyderco serrations. To honor the selfless service of first responders, every blade is proudly laser engraved with the motto "Save and Serve." All other features of these elite knives are consistent with the standard version of this model, including a reliable back lock mechanism, skeletonized stainless steel liners, four-position pocket clip, and Bi-Directional Texturing.”
This model Endela C243FPSBKRD comes with a satin VG-10 drop pointblade and a black FRNhandle with a red liner, representing firefighters. The reversible tip-up pocket clip is black in color.
