Spyderco – the thumb hole company – has been around since the 70’s, and while they were originally known for their impressive and widely-loved Tri-Angle Sharpmaker, the Colorado-based company now produces a wide range of unique and dependable knives that you’ll love to carry every day. Since their first folding knife, the C01 Worker, in 1981, Spyderco has defined innovation in the knife industry, paving the way for new concepts with many of their models over the years. From using high-grade (and often hard to find on the mainstream market) materials, Spyderco is beloved by many. Many of their models have an odd design at first sight, but their differences are what make them such a powerful and reliable daily carry. Nearly every one of the Spyderco models that has come through Sawyer River has impressed us and met the checklist as an EDC knife. The US-based company produces high-grade pocket knives un the USA, Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and China, surely having a model that will fit both your style as well as your budget. Spyderco took the beloved Autonomy – one of their only original automatic knives – and gave it an awesome update, making it more modern and a more practical everyday carry/user. Smoothing out the handle, and giving it a more simple and comfortable shape, as well as a slicey drop point blade, the Autonomy 2 is one of those knives you just need in either your pocket or your collection. Featuring the classic enlarged push button for easy use while gloved, a reliable slide-lock safety, and an enlarged pivot screw on the clip-side handle, the Autonomy 2 is the definition of a tactical auto pocket knife. A lanyard hole and reversible hourglass pocket clip are just the icing on the cake. The original Autonomy was designed with the U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmers in mind, and this new version has similar aspects. With an open-backed handle with full stainless steel liners and G-10 scales, this updated model is the auto meant for the sea. I haven’t even gotten to the fact that the Autonomy 2 comes with LC200N steel, extremely corrosion resistant and razor sharp, this steel is loved by water-goers around the world. If I haven’t convinced you that you need a Spyderco Autonomy 2 yet, I don’t know what else to say. Oh yeah, it’s made in the USA.

This model Autonomy 2 is all blacked out, coming with a DLC coated blade and black handle. To finish off the tactical look, the liners, clip, and all hardware all have their own non-reflective black coating. This thing is sick.
