The Pro-Tech BR-1.3 “Whisker” is a neat little bolster release auto with a sneaky opening mechanism. While the texturized bolster at the top of the handle looks like it is solidly attached to the rest of the handle, when it is pushed towards the spine of the handle, it releases a razor sharp 154CM drop point blade with incredibly snappy action. Many will struggle to figure this knife out their first go around, but once you do, you’ll never want to stop opening and closing it. For fans of a “fidget” knife, who need something that also doubles as an ultra-reliable rapid-action EDC pocket knife, the new BR-1.3 is definitely for you. When we first got these in, I (Nate) had some trouble opening it up, but now it’s one of my favorite non-traditional automatic knives. Featuring Pro-Tech’s signature snappy action and reliable lock-up, this Mike “Whiskers” design is just an awesome piece. A black 6061-T6 handle accompanied by a black tip-up pocket clip and some stainless screws, this thing looks gorgeous while closed. Opening up to 7.25” with a stonewashed drop point blade, the BR-1.3 has got it all. For something different to add to your automatic knife collection, look towards the Pro-Tech Whisker knives.
