You can’t get a much more reliable out the front pocket knife than the Microtech Ultratech. Featuring their signature smooth and reliable double-action OTF mechanism, proprietary hardware, and all of the highest-grade materials on the knife market, the Ultratech is the ultimate OTF everyday carry. Microtech has been pumping out Ultratech’s since 1999, and over that time frame, they’ve been adapted and upgraded leading to one of the best knives out there. A standard size, the handle being about 4.5”, and the knife itself being balanced to perfection, the Ultratech just feels right in your pocket and your hand, and it steps up to any challenge you may run into. As with many of Microtech’s main-line models, most Ultratech’s feature a ball-tip glass breaker on the butt of the handle, for emergencies.

With a dependable OTF safety mechanism stopping the blade from firing into anything, and internal designs that allow the firing spring to rest in both open and closed positions, along with an impressive lifetime warranty, the Ultratech is surprisingly safe and is made to last you a lifetime. We decided to leave the description for the Ultratech here as the Makora is a spin-off/upgraded version of the ever-loved full-sized Microtech OTF. Coming in with nearly the exact same specs as its main-line brother, the Makora is a tad bit lighter than the Ultratech, and received a traction grip tape inlay into both the face and clip side of its handle, giving it absolute extreme grip capabilities. The handle shape was also given a slight update, as the tip of the handle is more curved differently, making the Makora give off more of a classy-vibe. The ball-tip glass breaker is also extended a bit, making the overall length of the Makora just barely edge out the Ultratech. All in all, the Microtech Makora is an updated version of the Ultratech, being a bit easier to handle, giving off a bit of a modernized look, having a slightly changed blade profile (at the base of the blade when open), and being a little more of a comfortable weight.

This Signature Series model Microtech Makora, 206-10S, has a stonewashed double edge dagger blade and the handle is finished all black. The signature series pocket clip features an ant engraving and is finished stainless along with all of the hardware. Grab one of these while you still can!
