Hogue, known mainly as a strong USA-based gun grip manufacturer, has been around making high quality tactical equipment for both civilians and the military since the late 1960’s. An incredibly reputable and “household-name” brand, Hogue now offers a large number of pocket knives. Including manual folders with modern-day ambidextrous locking mechanisms such as their signature ABLE lock, to push button automatics, to tomahawks, and of course out the front auto’s, Hogue’s knives all have a special feeling to them, and all prove dependable. There’s a reason Hogue’s products are issued to every branch of the U.S. military. We have been blown away by the quality of knives coming from Hogue, and we are excited to expand our selection of all styles of knives coming from the US-based company. Hogue also proudly manufactures knives from tactical brands Heckler & Koch (H&K) and SIG SAUER. We have had Hogue’s main line of knives and a select few H&K’s, and not one of them has been underwhelming. If you’re looking for something dependable and made in the US by a well-known American brand, look to pick up a Hogue for yourself.
The Hogue Compound is legit. A rugged out the front auto with incredibly smooth action, Hogue for sure knows how to make a double-action OTF. Incredibly easy to deploy and retract back into its frame, the CPM S30V clip point blade tackles any projects and stays sharp for a surprisingly long time. The thumb slide on the spine is prominent and easy to find with your finger, but does not stick out enough to catch on your pocket or other items in your pocket. Lightweight and featuring a perfectly ergonomic handle without forcing your hand in any position, the Compound makes for an awesome everyday carry for the fan of the OTF. This is one of those knives that you’ll love to open and close over and over again, and it’s built to last through your fidget-spells.
This model Compound, 34031, comes with a blacked out handle, featuring a 6061-T6 aluminum chassis with G-10 hexagonal patterned grip. The only difference in this model from the Compound 34036 is that the thumb slide button has an upgraded tritium inlay. This allows for the button to glow in the dark, giving it yet another amazing feature. The blade is also black, PVD coated, in clip point, with a plain edge. All hardware and pocket clip on this model are finished black, leaving no stainless and making it a true tactical EDC out the front. Made in the USA, designed by Allen Elishewitz.
