GiantMouse ACE Clyde – Stonewash Bohler ELMAX Upswept Trailing Point Blade – Green Canvas Micarta Handle w/ Brass Thumb Stud and Backspacer – Liner Lock Manual – Maniago, Italy

GiantMouse Knives boasts an array of high-quality knives at an affordable price. An idea sparked over drinks at a US knife show in 2015, world renowned knife designers Jens Anso and Jesper Voxnaes are behind the design of these impressive pieces that feature mostly manual flippers and thumb hole openers. GiantMouse knives are produced in either Maniago, Italy, or by reliable China-based manufactures including Reate and Bestech. Most GiantMouse knives have a Scandanavian influenced profile, and you can often tell who designed them at first glance. Us at SRKT began carrying GiantMouse knives in 2021 and are beyond happy with the pieces that we have seen. Additionally, GiantMouse comes out with new models often, and their designs seem to keep getting better. Whether you prefer thumb studs/holes, flipper tabs, or slipjoints, GiantMouse is sure to have a knife that you’ll love to have in your pocket everyday. High-grade steels, titanium, micarta and more are used by GiantMouse, resulting in dependable knives that are easy to sharpen and difficult to beat up. We’ve noticed that GiantMouse knives clearly have a high level of attention to detail, as the ergonomics and function of each of their models is astounding. Additionally, Anso and Voxnaes tend to name GM knives after places or things that have important meaning to them, adding an extra touch of designer-personality. Their standard line, ACE, their fixed blades, and their 400-piece limited GM line all boast a number of pieces that do nothing but impress.

The GiantMouse Clyde is a favorite here at SRKT. With a snazzy looking trailing point blade, the Clyde gives off serious Scandinavian vibes. At first glance, the Clyde looks to be oddly shaped, and it is, but Anso and Voxnaes embraced the figure of the knife so that when you pick it up, it just feels right in your hand. One of those knives you see all over social media, the Clyde is as reliable as they come. Configured to perfection in Maniago, Italy, the Clyde opens and closes smoothly and the blade shape allows you to tackle any cutting situation that comes your way. If you’ve been pondering a GiantMouse knife, but aren’t a huge fan of a flipper-opener, look the way of the Clyde. We promise it won’t let you down. We love reading the knife descriptions on GiantMouse’s website, and their write-up for the Clyde is so unique that we just have to paste it here so you can get the full feeling of owning a Clyde:

“Meet Clyde…

More ‘folk’ than ‘lore.’

More ‘urban’ than ‘legend.’

More ‘goofus’ than gallant.’

Maybe it's our fault that Clyde turned out the way he did. After all, we did name him after our favorite watering hole in Portland, “The Clyde Common”, located at the ACE Hotel in Pearl district. And we did create him as a mix of Scandinavia meets Japan and flirts with the Persians - no good lovechild could come from that….or could it? Well, we surely think so!

Clyde has a slim, pointy and slightly upswept blade in Elmax steel (or “El Max,” as Clyde claims it is pronounced, being that it's named after a semi-famous Lucha libre wrestler from the ´70s). The handle looks smaller than it feels, just like Clyde claims in other matters, and the ergonomics of the knife may surprise you given its simple lines.

This new version in green canvas Micarta sports thumbstud and backspacer in brass!

We think that Clyde is the perfect EDC knife, and, if you haven’t noticed yet, it has a ton of attitude that will set it apart!”

Needless to say, the designers over at GiantMouse have put tons of emotion into the Clyde, and if you’re a fan of their stuff, you’ll like this guy for sure.

This model Clyde comes with a grippy green canvas micarta handle and a brass thumb stud and backspacer, adding to the very unique look that comes with it’s stonewashed trailing point blade. Stainless hardware and a stainless wire pocket clip finish off this Italian made Clyde.
